A modern perimeter block and landmark

Hopeatie 2 transforms an underused office plot into a lively and dense residential block right next to Pohjois-Haaga train station and the new tram line. The project will bring about 400 new residents to the area. The plan is based on a perimeter block whose building volumes vary in height from five stories up to a 16-story tower. The tall tower serves as an urban accent and a striking landmark along the developing public transport zone.

A green and vibrant urban environment

The new perimeter block offers a sheltered and green inner courtyard, complemented by the buildings’ green roofs and abundant plantings. Commercial and service spaces at street level bring life to the pedestrian environment and secure the area’s services, such as keeping a grocery store in the area. The design places particular emphasis on high-quality residential design, sustainable material choices and improving the safety and comfort of walking and cycling. Parking as well as storage and auxiliary spaces are discreetly located in underground basement levels.
