Headquarters along Ring Road III

YES-EU Oy’s new headquarters is located in Vantaa, along Ring Road III at the intersection of Äyritie and Rälssitie. The project is being carried out in collaboration with the future owner of the building, Julius Tallberg-Kiinteistöt Oyj. The building volume is elongated and stepped on the Ring Road III side, which also provides noise protection for the residential development planned for the area.

The office section is located at the northern end of the building along Rälssitie, and the main entrance on the courtyard side is accentuated by a canopy and large window surfaces. The three-story building houses the headquarters’ office spaces, customer reception and showroom, as well as a spare parts warehouse serving the company’s operations and a service hall for electric buses. The top floor has a staff break room with roof terraces, which can also serve as a customer space when needed.

The project supports YES-EU’s goal of accelerating Finland’s transition to emission-free transport, and the headquarters also serves as a visible calling card for the company’s growing electric mobility service business.

Main Design Principles

The façades are designed with metal surfaces. The office section stands out with its ribbon windows, and on the Ring Road III side the façade alternates between smooth and three-dimensional, folded metal cassettes. The central warehouse volume stands out from the other parts of the building as a darker mass clad entirely in three-dimensional cassettes.

On the Rälssitie side, the ground floor opens onto the pedestrian environment with large glass surfaces. The building has been stepped in the spirit of the local detailed plan, which has made it possible to preserve more valuable trees on the plot than a denser layout would have allowed.

The yard area has space for car and bus parking as well as service traffic. A zoning process is also under way in the area, as a result of which part of the plot will become a park and pedestrian and cycle paths in the future.
