A Modern Care Residence

The care residence comprises 60 residential rooms, each with a private bathroom. Some of the rooms can be combined, for example for couples. The windows of the residential rooms open towards a quiet inner courtyard as well as towards South Herttoniemi.

On the lower level of the care home, on the roof of the local service centre, there is a pleasant and sheltered courtyard exclusively for the care home’s use. Located between the building volumes, the courtyard features plantings and seating areas. The façade materials follow those of the local service centre and consist mainly of clinker brick slips and fair-faced white concrete.

The modern care residence includes all facilities required for independent daily operations, from a production kitchen to laundry services. Residents have access to several different lounge areas, a private library, and a sauna suite.

In addition to a grocery store and specialty shops, the Hertsi local service centre houses services such as the City of Helsinki’s library and youth services, restaurants and cafés, as well as sports and wellness facilities. Three residential apartment buildings are also located in connection with the local service centre.
