Malminkartano Care is a modern and welcoming care building that provides quality care and services for its residents. The facility is designed to meet the needs of its users and offers a variety of spaces and services for different purposes.

From children to seniors

The service center is located in Malminkartano, in a residential area between Vihdintie and Hämeenlinnanväylä. The complex includes a nursing home for the elderly, a group home for seniors, a group home for people with developmental disabilities, a daycare center, a dog daycare, and the necessary support facilities for these services.

Large windows and a multifunctional courtyard

The façades are primarily built from brick masonry on site. The large building mass is divided into smaller sections using bricks in different colors. To lighten the appearance, light wooden surfaces are used on the walls and ceilings of the arcade and entrance recesses, on the background walls of balconies, and on the exterior walls of the outdoor storage. Tall windows provide excellent views for the building’s users, and some apartments feature French balconies. Balconies connected to common areas are all located in the inner courtyard and are shared by residents. Window openings have been kept calm and repetitive.

The shared courtyard serves all building users, enabling encounters and communal activities. Different user groups have their own yard areas, while the central space remains a shared zone featuring, among other things, a summer kitchen, grill, vegetable garden, activity equipment for residents, and a sensory garden.

The roofs of the outdoor storage and carport are designed as green roofs. Stormwater in the courtyard is retained in a rain garden and in an underground stormwater cassette system beneath the parking area.
